Electronic Access Control System controls entrances to premises. Authorised users use credentials such as PIN, Proximity Cards, Finger as Electronic Key to gain access. A basic system usually consists of a Reader, Controller, Electromagnetic Lock (EM Lock), Exit Button, Emergency Break-glass Switch and Power Supply Unit.
Systems may be categorised into Standalone (Reader and Controller are combined in a unit), Reader/Controller and PC Networked type. Standalone usually provide office hours access requirements and doors need to be locked up manually after office hours. Reader/Controller Systems provide better security and thus it is safer for round the clock protection. PC Networked Systems are for multiple doors systems which require convenience programming of users. It also provide event-logging for management reports such as Time Attendance.
Elid’s Access Control Systems are applicable across all other entry points such as gate/car park barriers, turnstile/flap barriers and more.
