A Carpark Barrier is also known as Boom Barrier. It has a bar, or pole pivoted to block vehicular access through the controlled point. Typically, the bar or pole of the boom gate rises in a vertical arc to a near-vertical position. Some barriers also feature a bi-fold bar or pole where after the barrier is raised, the outermost half remains horizontal, with the barrier resembling an inverted “L” when raised. This configuration used in low-headroom car parks.
